www.iasiplus.ro was made on a WEB 2.0 platform, conceived and implemented by Media Factory. The platform offers the possibility to easily manage the site, being at the same time modular and mobile, fitting the editorial needs and those of transmitting the information in the online environment of Iasi Plus.
The website has an automatic newsletter, configuration on editions, multimedia module, user announces area, possibility of freely defining the categories and subcategories, news categorization on various formats, editorial zone, RSS module, advanced SEO module and many other instruments that position it within the top of online newspapers in Romania.
The architecture and the design of the site were conceived and made so that they can offer a comfortable visual reading of the news and an easy and intuitive navigation.

‣ Visual Identity
The Company Media Plus decided to offer to citizens of Iasi a new newspaper, in a format easy to read with a wide circulation to cover a important niche from the market :the free newspaper through all citizens in a equal manner have free access at information.
Media Factory has been chosen to build the identity, the collateral elements of communication, the defining of graphic layout for printed format of the newspaper and for the design and the platform of the website.
After analyzing the profile market, careful documentation of the target audience and of the most effective means of communication at national and international level, was started the efforts to achieve the identity for the new newspaper.
The identity chosen is simple, with a strong impact and defining properties as differentiation and visibility compared to other publications’ identities of this type of market. The red square surrounding the logo gives strength; combining the two fonts classic/modern and maximum contrast red/black provides to identity a high level of memorability, the visual balance created inside the square conveys seriousness and professionalism and the visual accident created by the diacritical mark pointed by the interruption of the gray marking line means rigor in selecting, verifying and publishing of the news.
The graphic style was defined in accordance with the objective of communication, being directly strong and defining for conveying the central values of the new publication: seriousness, rigor, professionalism, vision, the power to inform correct and objective and also dedication to be free and to serve the citizen.
‣ Print & Packaging
Media Factory made the architecture and the graphic layout of the Iasi Plus newspaper thus being easy to read and to look over it. The chosen format is the tabloid, the letter font being simple with high visibility. The newspaper has a nice, elegant and modern graphic design and a photographic style with a strong character. The “mise-en-place” of the news and articles is simple and it is completed by graphic elements which lead easily the reader through the newspaper pages.
Media Factory made a design book of the newspaper that includes the rules of the graphic elements’ utility, architectural and typographical rules and made a training program for the editorial team for the consistency and coherent application of the graphic system.
Iasi Plus is the first free newspaper of the North East of Romania, with a circulation of 5,000 copies distributed daily in the city of Iasi.
